Ordering Guide ♥

There are two ways to buy your dress from Adore. One way is to ORDER from our designers and the other way is to BUY FROM STOCK. We also have an in-house dressmaker who can alter your dress if necessary. Please see our guide below.

ORDERING YOUR DRESS
• Once you have decided on your dress, we will measure your bust, waist, hips and length, and then use the suppliers size chart to decide which standard size is best to order for you. We will then write out an invoice for your order, and ask for a 50% deposit which can be paid by cash, credit/debit card or cheque. Or we can arrange for you to pay by installments – please ask about our INTEREST FREE PAYMENT PLAN.
• Your dress is ordered from our suppliers and takes approximately 8-12 weeks for most bridesmaids and occasion dresses, and 12-20 weeks for most bridal dresses to come into stock. If your order is more urgent, a rush order can usually be arranged for which suppliers charge a rush fee of approximately £25-£75, depending on the supplier and type of dress.
• Once your dress arrives, we will check it over thoroughly and then contact you to arrange payment of the balance, dates for alterations fittings, and collection of your dress.
• Balances are due within two weeks of the dress arriving in to us. Alternatively the balance can be paid at the first alterations fitting if this is within two weeks of the date the dress arrives.
• If your balance is due but it is too soon for alterations, you are welcome to come in to look at, or try on (this is called a PRE-FIT) your gown before paying the balance. If having a PRE-FIT, please note that even though you are not seeing a dressmaker that day, you would still need an appointment to ensure the changing room is free for you. We can offer you a PRE-FIT appointment from Monday to Friday, but unfortunately not at the weekends.

BUYING YOUR DRESS FROM STOCK
• Many brides will buy their dress from stock. If this is the case, you are welcome to have your dress pinned at the time of buying, to save you having to come back for a separate alterations fitting.
• If you are planning to buy from stock, please bring your shoes and underwear with you so that we can save you time by fitting you on the day of purchase.
• Alternatively you are welcome to book an alterations fitting on another day.
• Please allow 6-8 weeks before the event for your first fitting. If your event is sooner we will offer you a rush alteration service if available. (Please note that in the busiest months we may not be able to offer a rush alteration service, but can recommend local dressmakers to you.)

ALTERATIONS TO YOUR DRESS
• Alterations fittings are available on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between 10am and 5pm. It is very important to note that we do not offer alterations fittings on Saturdays or Sundays, as we sincerely wish to avoid any disappointment at a later date.
• Alterations fittings can be booked well in advance, at the time you place your order if necessary, so that you have plenty of time to make arrangements to fit in with work or holidays.
• As a guide, we recommend that you allow at least 6-8 weeks before the wedding/occasion date for your first fitting. This then leaves plenty of time for the dressmaker to carry out the work, and for you to come in for second and possibly third fittings.

• The number of fittings varies from bride to bride. Generally a bride will come for a first fitting, and then a second time to try on the dress after it has been altered, with a view to possibly collecting it that day. Sometimes a bride will need to come a third time, if there is quite a lot of work needed, so it is important that you are able to plan ahead for these dates.
• Please bring the shoes and underwear that you will be wearing on your occasion to every fitting.
• Alterations are chargeable, and the amount you pay will vary according to how much work is needed. If it is only a small amount of work, the cost will be minimal. We have an alterations price list which is given to you at the time you place your order so that you can see in advance the possible charges, however you are under no obligation to have you alterations carried out with us and are welcome to seek alternative quotes.

STORAGE OF YOUR DRESS
Dresses are stored in a long, zip-up, breathable gown bag, and before you collect, your dress will be thoroughly checked and pressed. Once you get your dress home, if you can remove it from the bag to give it more room, this may allow any creases that have occurred during transportation to drop out. However, if you need to lightly press the train of your gown on the wedding day, we recommend the use of a dry iron on a cool setting on the reverse side of the fabric.

We hope you find the above notes useful when planning your purchase, but if there is anything you wish to ask about you are very welcome to phone us on 01245 356399 or email on info@adorebrides.co.uk. We will always do our best to accommodate you with any special arrangements if possible, and will try to help make the process of ordering your gown as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

Best wishes
The Adore team ♥
